Artist's Comments
Just messing around with concepts for other possible outfits for the characters. Figured I'd try and keep the characters from falling victim to what I call "Hanna-Barbera Syndrome", in which characters in a serialized story only have one standard outfit.
Up till now I've been drawing the characters as they appear in chapter one, but I thought it would be fun and challenging to give them new attire whenever they'd logically have the time to change, but still retain the essence of each character. And they're pirates/treasure hunters/vagabonds, so surely they can't have too many different outfits. Might be fun to sit down sometime and give each of the main characters a specific wardrobe set, just to get it all out of the way at once and then have a definite reference for later... |
